Ben Crump Questions Nolan Wells Drowning Theory

Civil rights attorney Ben Crump, representing the family of Nolan Wells, has cast doubt on the theory that the 18-year-old drowned during a Fourth of July celebration in Mississippi. According to the lawyer, Nolan was a skilled swimmer — he took swimming lessons as a child and had visited Horn Island before, so he would not have been lost or disoriented.

As previously reported, Nolan Wells went missing on July 4 during a trip with friends to Horn Island, located off the Gulf Coast. Two days later, his body was found in the water near the island. Investigators have not yet found evidence of a crime, but the attorney points to inconsistencies in the statements given by the three young men who were with Nolan on the island, as well as the girl he reportedly stayed with there.

Crump also highlighted a video that purportedly shows Nolan arguing with someone hours before his disappearance. This, he suggests, could indicate that a conflict preceded the tragedy. He has not ruled out that race may be a factor in the investigation, and the family fears Mississippi officials might try to sweep the case under the rug.

Nolan's parents appeared on 'Good Morning America' on Friday, where they told Michael Strahan they are demanding answers and simply want 'honesty and transparency.' The family has also launched a GoFundMe campaign that has already raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations, including from celebrities like Lil Rel Howery.

The death of Nolan Wells has sparked widespread public attention, especially given the involvement of a prominent civil rights lawyer and media coverage. Until official conclusions are reached, the family and attorneys continue to push for a thorough and impartial investigation into all circumstances of the incident.
