Boosie Badazz Sues Over $600K Paid for Trump Pardon That Never Came

Rapper Boosie Badazz (real name Torence Hatch) is at the center of a major scandal: he claims he paid political operatives Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman a hefty sum to help secure a presidential pardon from Donald Trump, but the pardon never materialized. Now the artist is taking legal action to get his money back.

According to a NOTUS report, the musician struck a deal with the pair last fall. Wohl and Burkman allegedly convinced him they had significant influence within Trump's orbit and could get the pardon done. Boosie claims they acted as if they had the president "on speed dial."

The situation escalated on New Year's Day: Boosie's lawyer received a call claiming Trump had already signed the pardon, but the White House just hadn't announced it yet. However, the pardon never surfaced. Now Boosie is trying to recover $300,000 — half the fee, which, according to the contract, should be refunded if no pardon was delivered.

Wohl and Burkman refuse to pay, arguing no refund agreement existed and claiming their firm is effectively broke after millions in fines tied to past legal troubles. Burkman told TMZ they worked "very, very hard" and that Boosie's chances were hurt by his arrest in Texas on an alleged violent crime.

A White House official flatly denied the duo had any role in the pardon process, saying the clemency team had "never heard from" them and that their involvement would actually hurt someone's chances. Boosie ultimately didn't receive clemency, though he later got a sentence of time served on his federal gun case. He remains hopeful that a separate pardon application filed directly with the White House will eventually succeed, but for now, his biggest legal battle is getting his money back.
