Chris Brown Pleads Guilty to Attack on Producer in London

American singer Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to attacking a music producer in a London nightclub three years ago. The hearing took place on Friday at Southwark Crown Court, where the artist and his co-defendant Omololu Akinlolu admitted to a charge of affray related to the attack on Abraham Diaw at Tape nightclub in February 2023.

According to the prosecution, Brown and Akinlolu used or threatened unlawful violence, causing Diaw to fear for his safety. More serious charges of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and assault causing actual bodily harm were dropped as part of a plea deal.

This is not the first legal trouble for Chris Brown. He has a history of aggressive incidents, most notably the 2009 assault on Rihanna, for which he was sentenced to community service and anger management classes. He also faced accusations of attacking a hotel security guard in 2017.

Now Brown and Akinlolu have admitted to involvement in the brawl, avoiding more severe charges. Sentencing is scheduled for October 26. Lawyers for the singer have not commented, but they are likely to seek a lenient sentence, citing the lack of serious injury to the victim.
