Chris Watts' Second Mistress Details His 'Animalistic Fury' and Chilling Behavior

Chris Watts' second mistress, a Colorado hairdresser named Amanda McMahon, has come forward to reveal the full extent of their relationship before he murdered his pregnant wife and two daughters. In a new interview, she admits she initially lied to police about the nature of their affair, which actually began in 2017 — more than a year before the killings.

Amanda met Watts on Tinder while going through her own divorce and custody battle. He told her he was separated from his wife Shanann Watts and facing a messy custody dispute, but that was a lie. They were still living together. Despite his charm, Amanda says she felt something was off: "His sweetness was fake — he could turn it on when needed, but it wasn't genuine."

During one of their early dates, Watts insisted on watching the film "Shutter Island," a thriller about a man who kills his wife after believing she murdered their children. The choice is eerily similar to Watts' later claim to police that he strangled Shanann because he thought she had killed their daughters — a claim investigators dismissed as false.

Amanda recounts that their sexual encounters turned violent. Watts displayed what she describes as "animalistic fury," pulling her hair, grabbing her neck, and attempting anal sex in what felt like a "rape fantasy." She says she was terrified: "In a snap, he went from normal to crazy, brutal. I was scared to say anything." She also alleges Watts begged her for prescription opioids to "get messed up" and constantly badmouthed Shanann, calling her a "f***ing psycho" and a "gold digger."

The relationship ended in March 2018 when Amanda changed her phone number, tired of his late-night texts and drug requests. Months later, she saw him on TV pleading for information about his missing family. "I realize now how lucky I am to be alive," she says. "If his M.O. is to kill, he could have taken me out to scratch that itch."

Chris Watts is serving a life sentence without parole for the murders of his wife and daughters in August 2018. He confessed to strangling Shanann and then suffocating the girls, dumping their bodies in oil tanks at his workplace. His motive was to start a new life with another mistress, Nichol Kessinger. The case remains a chilling example of domestic violence and deception.
