Renowned fitness blogger and proponent of the "looksmaxxing" movement, Connor Murphy, tragically died in Thailand after drowning. The incident occurred on Tuesday when the 30-year-old American returned by taxi to an upscale residential village in Samut Prakan province, near Bangkok. Local media reported that his behavior seemed odd to the driver, who refused to take him further, which triggered the blogger's aggression.

After locals called the police, Murphy attempted to flee and jumped into a lake on the village grounds. He swam to the middle of the water but, according to preliminary reports, exhausted himself and went under. Rescuers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation searched for his body for about half an hour before bringing him to shore. The exact cause of death will be determined after an autopsy.

He called himself a "giga chad" — an internet term for a man with peak physical form and confidence. However, police found paint splatters in his rental home and two syringes and unidentified white pills in his car. Authorities are continuing the investigation.
