Delivery Driver Sues Over Home Damage in Nancy Guthrie Case

A delivery driver who claims he was wrongfully detained in the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping investigation is planning to sue over damage allegedly caused by law enforcement at his home. The man says he was held at gunpoint for over seven hours before being released without charges.

Carlos Palazuelos' legal team has released photos showing battered walls, holes in the ceiling, scuff marks on doors, a fist-shaped hole in the wall, and a cracked door jamb. These images are said to support his claims of excessive force during the search.

This week, his lawyers filed a notice of claim — a required step before suing the government — against the Pima County Sheriff's Department, Sheriff Chris Nanos, and Detective Earl Gieron. The lawsuit seeks at least $2.5 million in damages.

Two other individuals who were in the home at the time, Daniel and Josefina Maddox, are also seeking compensation: $500,000 and $250,000, respectively.

The Nancy Guthrie case remains unsolved, with authorities yet to find those responsible for her abduction. They have released copies of the first two ransom notes, one of which claims Nancy died shortly after being taken because the kidnappers were unaware of her serious health conditions.
