Djimon Hounsou's earnings from 'Rebel Moon' and 'Quiet Place' revealed in battle with ex

Hollywood actor Djimon Hounsou, known for his roles in blockbusters and dramas, has found himself at the center of a scandalous legal dispute. During the custody battle with his former partner Ri’za Marie Simpson, details of his recent film salaries have come to light. Financial documents filed by the actor reveal the amounts he earned for starring in several high-profile movies.

According to the documents, Hounsou was paid $1.1 million for his role in 'A Quiet Place: Day One'. This is one of the largest sums listed in the declaration. He also earned $1.25 million for the film 'Red Car' with Halle Berry and Scott Eastwood. For the two 'Rebel Moon' films, he received $250,000, and for the horror film 'The Monster,' he got $400,000. The projects 'The Rising' and 'The Zealot' each brought him $300,000.

In his financial statement, Hounsou listed his average gross monthly income as around $60,000, but claims his expenses reach $85,000. Major expenses include $9,700 for his mortgage, $5,000 for his car, $2,500 for groceries and household items, and similar amounts for dining out, clothing, and entertainment. The actor emphasizes that his income is unpredictable and varies greatly depending on the number of acting offers.

In addition to film salaries, Hounsou reported additional income: over $600,000 in residual payments from previous projects and $150,000 from a collaboration with FIFA. However, his ex-partner Ri’za believes his actual income is higher. She estimates his monthly earnings at around $133,000, taking all sources into account.

Ri’za has asked the court to award her $30,000 for attorney fees and an additional $10,000 to hire a financial expert to review Hounsou's income. Earlier reports indicated that the actor filed for joint custody in January after an incident that led to police being called to their home. Ri’za was arrested on a simple assault charge, but she denies the allegations.
