Emilie Kiser Faces Backlash for Toddler Without Life Jacket a Year After Son's Drowning

Influencer Emilie Kiser is under fire after her 16-month-old son Teddy was seen on a boat without a life jacket. The backlash is especially intense because it comes just over a year after her three-year-old son Trigg drowned in their backyard pool.

The incident happened during a trip to Mallorca, where Emilie, her husband Brady, and other influencers were vacationing. A video posted by friend Madi Curtis showed Teddy on the boat without a flotation device, sparking outrage online.

In response, Emilie posted an Instagram story admitting fault: "Our child should have been in his life jacket for the entirety of that boat ride, not even for the few moments that he was out of it." She added that the family is "painfully aware that in a matter of seconds, your entire life can change."

Last May, Trigg was found unresponsive in the family's pool and later died at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Emilie said the family faces "a deep level of anger" online, which she believes "comes from the belief that Trigg should still be here."

She vowed to "continue to do better, advocate for better" and learn from mistakes. The influencer also announced earlier this month that she is pregnant again, adding another layer to the public scrutiny.

While some followers have shown support, many question the family's judgment, given their tragic history. Emilie acknowledged the pain but asked for understanding as they navigate their grief.
