Emily Willis Slowly Recovering After Catastrophic Brain Damage

The family of adult film star Emily Willis has reached a major settlement with the Malibu rehab facility where she suffered catastrophic brain damage. According to TMZ, the actress is slowly recovering.

Emily's mother, Yesenia Cooper, says Emily is not verbal but can communicate with her eyes and head shakes — she understands about 80% of what is happening. Despite her condition, Emily is improving day by day and continues to fight for the best life possible.

In 2024, Cooper sued Malibu Lighthouse Treatment, claiming the facility failed to properly care for Emily while she was treated for ketamine addiction at Summit Malibu. This week, they reached a $3 million settlement, with the defendants denying wrongdoing.

Emily is still learning to walk again and needs help feeding, but she can now sleep on her own and watch movies and shows she enjoys. After more than 10 surgeries, she is currently in Mexico working with top therapists. The family hopes to travel to Spain for new neurological procedures to stimulate speech, communication, and movement.

Before her cardiac arrest and subsequent 30-40 minutes without oxygen, Emily was one of the biggest stars in the adult industry and won Performer of the Year at the 2021 AVN Awards. She later transitioned into mainstream acting, appearing in the sci-fi film "Divinity."
