Erika Kirk Leaves Court During Harrowing Testimony in Charlie Kirk Murder Case

Erika Kirk, the widow of the late Charlie Kirk, along with his parents Robert and Kathryn, walked out of the courtroom Monday as former police officer Chris Bagley began describing the moment of the fatal shooting. Witnesses said the family could not bear the emotional testimony but returned after a brief recess.

Bagley's testimony was part of the preliminary hearing for Tyler Robinson, who is charged with murdering Charlie Kirk. Prosecutors presented 40 to 50 exhibits and called witnesses to convince the judge that there is enough evidence to proceed to trial.

Bagley told the court he heard a gunshot and saw Charlie "lean to the left," causing panic. He immediately ran to the scene and noticed disturbances in the gravel and other evidence. Prosecutors allege Robinson fired the fatal shot from a rooftop about 200 feet away and then fled.

Investigators said they recovered the rifle believed used in the killing and found Robinson's DNA on it. Additionally, messages from the investigation show Robinson discussing the weapon, trying to retrieve it, and acknowledging responsibility for Charlie's death.

Erika Kirk previously posted on X that each court proceeding is a painful reminder of their loss and thanked supporters for their prayers and kindness, asking for privacy. Robinson is charged with aggravated murder and other crimes; he has not entered a plea, and prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

The case has drawn widespread public attention, particularly regarding campus safety. The next hearings are expected in the coming weeks, and the Kirk family plans to attend all proceedings to seek justice for Charlie.
