Folk Legend Linda Perhacs Missing for 8 Months, Friends Plead for Help

Linda Perhacs, the 82-year-old folk music icon, has reportedly been missing from the lives of her closest friends and collaborators for about eight months. Concerns are mounting as loved ones struggle to reach her.

According to Entertainment Weekly and Page Six, the singer hasn't been heard from since she was discharged from a residential care facility in Los Angeles under the supervision of a legal guardian. Repeated attempts to contact her or the guardian have gone unanswered.

Mark McNeill, co-founder of online radio station Dublab, first raised the alarm with an emotional Instagram plea, asking the public for help locating Perhacs. He directed anyone with information to contact her former manager, Laurel Stearns.

Stearns confirmed the growing anxiety, stating, "Our priority here is to get the word out and make sure that she is safe and comfortable." The identity of the legal guardian remains unclear, adding mystery to the troubling situation.

Linda Perhacs is best known for her dreamy psychedelic folk sound. Her 1970 debut album Parallelograms became a cult classic decades later, leading to a successful comeback in 2014 with The Soul of All Natural Things.
