In a letter to Brignoles mayor Didier Brémond, obtained by multiple media outlets, George Clooney wrote: "At this point we have no idea whether our beautiful home makes it through this terrible moment." The actor also expressed hope that the mayor and residents are safe and emphasized that he and Amal are committed to helping rebuild the village if needed.

The wildfires in France have consumed an area nearly four times the size of Paris. In the Gironde region, about 224,000 people were evacuated, while an additional 3,000 were forced to leave in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, where the Clooneys' home is located.

George and Amal Clooney moved to France a few years ago, seeking to shield their children from Hollywood celebrity culture. In an interview with Esquire last October, the actor said they wanted a more subdued, quiet life for their family.

The Clooney estate in Brignoles is a luxurious villa with vineyards and olive groves, purchased in 2020. However, nature shows no mercy: wildfires in France have become a serious challenge for many celebrities who own property in the region.
