Georgia Grandma Charged in Grandson's Pool Drowning

A tragic incident in Georgia has led to criminal charges against a grandmother after her two-year-old grandson drowned in a pool. Emelisa Paz-Santos is now facing involuntary manslaughter and cruelty to children charges following the death of little Axel Delgado.

The incident occurred on the evening of June 21 at a clubhouse pool in Roswell. According to police, first responders rushed to the scene and performed life-saving measures before transporting the child to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

During the investigation, witnesses and surveillance footage revealed that Paz-Santos failed to provide adequate care and supervision for Delgado, which directly led to his drowning. The Fulton County District Attorney's Office issued an arrest warrant, and Paz-Santos surrendered on July 14.

She was booked into the Fulton County Jail on Wednesday. Additionally, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) placed a detainer on her, indicating potential immigration issues that could affect her case.
