Giuliana Rancic Reveals Traumatic Breakup Details with Jerry O'Connell

Giuliana Rancic is setting the record straight about her painful split from Jerry O'Connell over two decades ago. Last week, the actor admitted on Kelly Ripa's podcast that he broke up with the TV host via intercom, but couldn't recall his exact words. Giuliana remembers every detail.

In her 2015 memoir, she wrote that Jerry told her: "Nope, sorry, homegirl. Things change, but you take care, OK?" Although Jerry doesn't recall that line, he confirmed the awful breakup method. Worse, he revealed that another woman — actress Geri Halliwell — was in his apartment at the time.

Giuliana heard about Jerry's confession and decided to clarify things on her own podcast. On the Bill and Giuliana Podcast, she accused him of downplaying their relationship, insisting they were together for a year and a half and it was a serious romance.

Everything was perfect until Jerry went to film a movie in London with Geri Halliwell. Photos emerged of them holding hands, and Giuliana was devastated. When she confronted him, he simply said, "Yeah, sorry. I screwed up. Have a nice life."

After the breakup, Giuliana struggled, but Jerry eventually came crawling back. He cried to her friend and begged for forgiveness at her apartment. She took him back, and they dated for another four or five months. However, after a trip to Las Vegas, Jerry grew distant and ultimately broke up with her from his balcony via intercom.

At the time, Giuliana didn't know another woman was inside. She only learned that from Jerry's podcast appearance. Despite the trauma, she says, "We are both happily married now. Everything happens for a reason." Jerry didn't join her podcast, but Giuliana hopes for a future face-to-face conversation.
