Iguana Escapes From FedEx Package, Causes Chaos in Store

In Memphis, FedEx store employees got the shock of their lives when a huge iguana leaped out of a package, causing chaos in the store. The video of the runaway reptile quickly went viral on social media, garnering millions of views and comments.

The video was captured by Roderick Duncan, known on Instagram as @chefp_. He came to the store to pick up his iguana named Titan, which had been shipped to him via the delivery service. When he opened the box, the reptile, contrary to expectations, was full of energy and immediately escaped.

“I expected him to be stiff for a minute after shipping, like most reptiles. Nope. Titan came out ready for ALL the smoke,” Roderick said. According to him, the iguana was so active that store employees panicked and ran away, and one woman fell to the floor when she saw the lizard fly over the counter.

Roderick had to literally chase his pet around the store to catch him. He admitted he felt like Steve Irwin, the famous crocodile hunter. Fortunately, everything ended well: no one was hurt, and in the end everyone was laughing about the incident.

Iguanas are popular pets, but keeping them requires special conditions. They can grow up to two meters in length and need a spacious terrarium with specific temperature and humidity levels. Transporting such animals is a responsible process, and they are usually shipped in special containers with ventilation and bedding.

Experts advise ensuring that reptiles are healthy and calm before shipping, and using secure containers that cannot be opened from the inside. Otherwise, similar incidents can occur, which, although they look funny, can be dangerous for both the animal and those around.

The story of Titan sparked a lively reaction online: users joke about “surprise deliveries” and admire Roderick’s bravery. Some even suggested that the iguana just wanted to explore the new world before heading home to its owner.
