Justin Baldoni Breaks Silence on Blake Lively Legal Battle

Director and actor Justin Baldoni has finally spoken out about his lengthy legal dispute with Blake Lively. In an interview alongside his wife Emily, he called the whole ordeal an “injustice” and insisted that he was the wronged party, not his opponent.

The conflict erupted after the release of “It Ends with Us” (2024), which Baldoni directed and starred in. Blake Lively sued him for sexual harassment and retaliation, prompting Baldoni to file a countersuit against Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds, accusing them of defamation and extortion.

In his first detailed comments, Baldoni explained why he and his wife had stayed silent throughout the legal battle. He said they deliberately didn’t want to “add to the noise,” noting that many “untruthful” things had been said over the past two years, and they preferred to let the justice system run its course.

Emily Baldoni revealed that the legal fight has traumatized their family. She said they still can’t understand how it happened, calling it “disguised as a fight for women.” For her, it has been a heavy burden affecting the whole family.

Now, the couple says they are focused on healing. Baldoni stressed that the journey hasn’t been linear, forcing them to reassess what truly matters: their children, family, friends, community, and faith. They also thanked supporters who stood by them, especially those who “trusted their intuition” and prayed for them.

The legal saga continues. A federal judge recently ruled partially in favor of Blake Lively: after settling with Baldoni’s production company, she was awarded attorney fees, but her request for additional financial penalties was denied. Baldoni’s countersuit was dismissed by the court.

According to reports, Lively sent Baldoni a bill for more than $8 million in legal costs. It remains unclear how the director will respond to this demand or whether he will appeal. The situation is still tense, and neither side appears ready to back down.
