Marcellus Wiley Admits Marriage Issues, Denies Abuse Again

Former NFL star Marcellus Wiley has once again strongly denied allegations of abuse made by his estranged wife, Annemarie Wiley. In his official response to her request for a domestic violence restraining order, he admits their marriage wasn't perfect but insists he is innocent.

In court documents filed late Friday, Wiley states that Annemarie's accusations are heartbreaking, embarrassing, and completely false. He wrote: "We did not have a perfect marriage. We experienced disagreements, frustrations, and periods of marital strain. However, I have never physically abused, sexually assaulted, or intentionally harmed my wife at any point during our relationship."

Wiley says it's particularly painful that Annemarie characterizes some of their marital intimacy as rape. He insists he never forced, coerced, or sexually assaulted her. He also notes that police were never called to their home for abuse during their marriage, and he only learned of her allegations after she filed for divorce.

He specifically addresses the July 4th weekend trip during which he was arrested and booked on a domestic battery charge. Wiley claims he never hit, pushed, poked, grabbed, or placed his hands on her "in anger" during that trip. He maintains that all allegations will be disproven.

One of the hardest parts of the proceedings for Wiley has been losing contact with his children, as a judge granted Annemarie's request for a temporary restraining order earlier this month. He asks the court to thoroughly evaluate the evidence before making a decision.

This is not the first time Wiley has denied the allegations. Shortly after Annemarie filed for divorce, he released a statement claiming she had "lost her mind." He has also filed legal documents asserting he has a witness who will refute all of her allegations regarding the July 4th events.
