Marjorie Taylor Greene and Sunny Hostin Clash Over Graham Platner on The View

A heated exchange erupted on The View between host Sunny Hostin and Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene over comments Greene made about the sexual assault allegations against Senate candidate Graham Platner.

When asked about Platner's policies, Greene said she knew nothing about them but immediately questioned the timing of the allegations, calling them a "political hit job." She stated, "I only learned about him yesterday when this blew up. But I know what establishment political attacks look like."

Former sex crimes prosecutor Sunny Hostin pushed back, presenting a screenshot of a since-deleted social media post in which Greene allegedly called the accuser "using rape for politics." Greene claimed she was misquoted, but Hostin stood her ground.

Hostin was particularly angered by Greene's remark that victims should not wait "years later when someone is running for office" to report an assault. Hostin asked pointedly, "So it's the woman's fault?" Greene quickly backtracked, saying she was misunderstood.

Graham Platner, a Democratic Senate candidate in Maine, faces a new allegation from ex-girlfriend Jenny Racicot, who claims he forced himself on her in 2021 while intoxicated. Platner and his campaign deny the allegations, calling them a coordinated attack.

The argument ran so long that Greene's segment ended prematurely. With the ballot deadline just a week away, it remains unclear whether Platner will drop out of the race against incumbent Susan Collins.
