Max Holloway Prepares for 'Dangerous' Conor McGregor at UFC 329

Former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway doesn't believe ring rust will affect Conor McGregor after a five-year layoff. In an interview with TMZ Sports, he stated he is preparing for the most dangerous version of the Irishman, despite McGregor not fighting since 2020.

The first bout between Holloway and McGregor took place in 2013, with Conor winning by unanimous decision. Holloway admitted he expected a rematch much sooner but didn't think it would happen after such a long hiatus for his opponent.

Despite respecting McGregor's legacy, Holloway is determined: "I can't wait to punch the guy in the face." He emphasized he is happy to be the one welcoming Conor back to the cage, but the pleasantries end there.

Holloway acknowledged that five years off might bring out the best version of McGregor, but he is confident he will win — and "in devastating fashion." He plans not just to win, but to do so spectacularly for the fans.

A fight with McGregor guarantees a significant payday, but Holloway also aims for a performance bonus. He promised fans a spectacular show in the octagon.

The Holloway vs. McGregor bout will headline UFC 329 this Saturday. For both fighters, it's a chance to prove dominance and re-enter title contention.
