Melissa Schuman Fears Harassment from Nick Carter's Fans in Court Filing

Melissa Schuman Fears Harassment from Nick Carter's Fans in Court Filing

Melissa Schuman, who has accused Nick Carter of sexual assault, has stated in court that she fears harassment from the pop star's fans. According to TMZ, she has filed new documents requesting permission to seal her medical records in the ongoing legal battle with the musician.

In her filing, Melissa Schuman claims that since she went public with her allegations against Nick Carter, she has been the target of a campaign of harassment, threats, doxxing, and intimidation. She says her home address has been leaked, anonymous mail has been sent to her residence, and she has received messages encouraging her to harm herself. She also mentions coordinated efforts to discredit her.

Schuman is also asking the court to seal the transcript of her deposition. A judge has yet to rule on the motion.

Carter has previously claimed that Schuman's alleged false statements have caused severe harm to his career. In his lawsuit against her, he described her actions as "intentional, malicious, oppressive and designed" to damage his reputation. His lawyers argue that Schuman's "plot to smear" his image, which he claims is part of an effort to extort a settlement, has substantially damaged his ability to earn a livelihood.

Additionally, Carter stated that his wife and young children have suffered emotional distress as a result of the allegations.

As previously reported, Schuman sued Carter over an alleged 2003 sexual assault in Los Angeles. Carter denies the allegations and has countersued. He recently submitted declarations from alleged witnesses who claim they saw nothing on the night in question. Schuman stands by her story, and the case is ongoing.
