Miranda Hope's Ex Sentenced for DUI in 'Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' Case

The ex-boyfriend of Miranda Hope, star of the reality show 'Secret Lives of Mormon Wives', has cut a plea deal in his DUI case and will avoid jail time.

Chase McWhorter pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor DUI. In exchange, prosecutors agreed to drop other charges and recommend probation, community service, and a substance abuse evaluation instead of prison. The judge approved the deal.

As part of the sentence, Chase must pay a $1,383 fine, complete 48 hours of community service, and serve one year of probation. The plea deal comes about a year after his arrest.

Chase was arrested last year during the Fourth of July weekend. Utah police pulled him over after observing his vehicle drifting out of its lane several times. Officers noted he smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes, and slurred speech.

He was also initially charged with possession of a controlled substance, but that charge was dropped as part of the agreement. The court will require a substance abuse evaluation to determine if further treatment is needed.

Fans of the show have been following the story closely, as Miranda Hope is a prominent cast member. The incident has sparked discussions on social media, with some expressing sympathy and others criticizing Chase's behavior.

This case highlights the legal consequences of DUI, even for those in the public eye. It remains to be seen how this will affect Miranda's personal life and her storyline on the show, but it certainly adds a new chapter to her already public journey.
