Mitch McConnell Releases Photo From Hospital After Fall

Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell has shared the first photo of himself since he was hospitalized last month. In the picture, released on Sunday along with a press statement, the politician is seen smiling while sitting in a geriatric chair, with his wife Elaine Chao by his side.

In the statement, McConnell revealed that he had taken a fall and ended up in the hospital. He noted that surviving childhood polio meant living with mobility challenges his entire life, which have not become easier with age. According to the senator, doctors have confirmed that he did not break any bones, suffer a concussion, have a heart attack or stroke, or develop tumors or hemorrhages.

However, he briefly lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital. During his treatment, he also developed a mild case of pneumonia. The politician emphasized that he received excellent care and has now been transferred to a rehabilitation center to continue his recovery.

McConnell admitted that on the advice of his doctors, he cannot yet return to the Senate floor, which is frustrating for him. Nevertheless, he has been working closely with legislative staff on issues important to his constituents. The press release also includes a statement from the attending physician's office, backing up the senator's account.

Previously, McConnell's team had been tight-lipped about his condition, fueling speculation. Some conservative commentators, including former House member Marjorie Taylor Greene, questioned the official information and demanded proof of life. Now, it appears that proof has been provided.
