The incident involved a brown convertible driven by Paul Pelosi, which rear-ended a parked, unoccupied vehicle. The parked car suffered major rear damage, and its front right tire was forced onto the curb. Witnesses told police the convertible paused briefly before driving off.

Later, officers found a disabled car matching the description on the side of the road. The front right side of the vehicle had significant damage consistent with the earlier collision. Paul Pelosi, the car's owner, told deputies he had hit something earlier but was unsure what it was.

The sheriff's office is submitting a report to the district attorney recommending a charge of misdemeanor hit and run for property damage.
