Nolan Wells' Independent Autopsy Leaves Questions Unanswered

Civil rights attorney Ben Crump, representing the family of Nolan Wells, said that the independent autopsy commissioned by relatives has not provided definitive answers about the young man's death. According to the lawyer, experts still need to examine key organs and materials to determine what happened to Nolan.

On the show “TMZ Live,” Crump explained that special attention must be paid to the throat, lungs, and original autopsy photos. These data could shed light on the main question: whether Nolan Wells was conscious when he entered the water or already unconscious. The attorney emphasized the importance of transparency from officials who previously promised to provide information.

The family has not yet received any data from the sheriff or medical examiner about the release of official results expected from Mississippi. Additionally, it turned out that Nolan's throat had been removed by the time of the independent examination, complicating the analysis.

As a reminder, the independent autopsy released on Wednesday morning revealed a red discoloration on the back of the head, which could indicate a possible injury. However, the exact cause and manner of death remain undetermined and require further investigation.

Crump's team continues to gather information from people who were on Horn Island on July 4, when Nolan disappeared. The case also involves prominent figures: Reverend Al Sharpton and Tyler Perry are offering $50,000 each for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Former NFL player Colin Kaepernick paid for the independent autopsy.

Additionally, TMZ obtained video from Horn Island that appears to show Nolan grabbing a drink from a cooler — possibly footage from his final hours. The family still has more questions than answers, and Crump promises not to stop until he uncovers the truth about what happened to Nolan.
