Peter Weber Breaks Silence on Ex-Producer's Hookup Claims

Peter Weber, star of 'The Bachelor,' has broken his silence after former producer Julie LaPlaca claimed in her new memoir 'The Love Producer' that the two hooked up while his season was still airing. In a statement to TMZ, Weber expressed deep disappointment that LaPlaca chose to reveal what he considered private moments.

Weber pointed out the irony of Julie publishing a book about finding truth and love, while during his season, when she was his main confidant and guide, her actions allegedly said otherwise. He emphasized he is not a victim but a grown man responsible for his actions, yet the trust placed in people he barely knew was betrayed.

According to Weber, contestants are cut off from the outside world and rely heavily on producers. He finds it hard to understand how Chris Harrison and Julie could endorse such a book, knowing how badly they let him down. As an example, he claimed Julie got into a stern argument with him when he was about to give a rose to Hannah Ann Sluss for hometown dates, warning him America would laugh at him.

Weeks later, when Weber was preparing to propose to Hannah Ann, he alleges Julie and Chris blatantly lied that she was having second thoughts to get a reaction. He later learned Hannah never had such doubts. Weber also said he spoke with Julie for 90 minutes before the memoir's release, repeatedly asking her not to include his name or reveal off-camera details.

'To have her laugh in my face while I was vulnerably expressing my reasons for wanting to be left out of this book was unforgivable,' Weber said, adding that she knows he has the conversation recorded. He ended on a reflective note, grateful for his experience on 'The Bachelor,' saying he is in a good place and hopes Julie finds the love everyone deserves.

Julie LaPlaca, Weber's main producer, claimed in her book that their friendship turned romantic in early 2020 after his engagement to Hannah Ann ended, and they hooked up while his season was still airing and again after his brief reconciliation with Madi Prewett. She also alleged they went to bed together days before Weber rekindled things with Kelley Flanagan. Rumors had swirled for years after they were spotted together in Chicago, though both publicly denied involvement.
