Prince Harry Beams at Invictus Games Despite Meghan Markle Dropping Out
Prince Harry appeared in high spirits at the Invictus Games in Birmingham on Friday, even though his wife Meghan Markle pulled out of the event at the last minute. Photos show the Duke of Sussex smiling during a video call, flashing his signature Sussex smile.
Harry spent the entire day at the sporting event, playing pickleball, wheelchair rugby, and hybrid athletics alongside professional athletes. Afterward, he headed to Highgrove House, the residence of King Charles and Queen Camilla, for a family gathering.
According to ITV, the King and Queen Consort met with Harry, Meghan, and their two children—Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The visit was private, so no details or photos were released. This was the first time Charles and Camilla saw their grandchildren since 2022, when Archie and Lilibet were toddlers. Now they are 7 and 5 years old, respectively, and there is much lost time to make up for.
Interestingly, Meghan Markle skipped the Invictus Games event due to reported security concerns. This is not the first time the Duchess of Sussex has avoided public engagements in the UK, fueling speculation about tensions within the royal family.
Notably, Prince William and Kate Middleton were not present at the meeting. As is well known, William and Harry have been estranged since the Sussexes stepped back from royal duties and moved to the US. Despite this, Harry looked happy before the visit, and hopefully, the family felt the same afterward.
Experts suggest that such reunions could be a step toward reconciliation, though no official statements have been made by either side. Royal fans are closely watching developments, hoping that Harry and William can mend their relationship for the sake of their children.
