RHONY OGs Slam New Cast, Want Ratings Showdown
The original stars of “The Real Housewives of New York” have harsh words for the women who replaced them on the Bravo series. According to insiders, they believe the new cast lacks charisma and are ready to compete directly for viewers’ attention.
Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, Kelly Bensimon, Ramona Singer, and Dorinda Medley are currently filming their own project for E! called “The Golden Life.” As it turns out, they are deliberately avoiding any overlaps with the new RHONY stars on set and in social circles.
E! was so impressed with the pilot episodes shot in Palm Beach that they ordered additional episodes. Filming will continue in the Hamptons and New York City. Insiders describe the new project as “light” and “fun,” contrasting with the dramatic format of the original show.
According to sources, the original cast does not want to be associated with the new RHONY heroines. There will be no guest appearances or crossovers between the two shows. Moreover, veterans think the new members are “not in their league” and that their participation is a joke.
The new RHONY cast includes Sai De Silva, Erin Lichy, Jessel Taank, Hailey Glassman, Erika Hammond, and Daisy Toye, along with “friend” Carole Radziwill and newcomer Devyn Simone. These women replaced the iconic stars who made the show popular for years.
The original stars do not hide their ambitions: they would like “The Golden Life” to premiere on the same night as the new RHONY season. This way, they intend to show Bravo what they lost by replacing them.
The conflict between the old and new casts is fueling public interest. Fans of the franchise are actively discussing who is better: the legendary housewives or fresh blood. It is not yet known when “The Golden Life” will premiere, but it is clear that the showdown promises to be heated.
