Legendary actor Sam Neill, best known for his role as Dr. Alan Grant in “Jurassic Park,” has died at the age of 78. His family confirmed the sad news, saying he passed away on Monday in a Sydney hospital, Australia. The cause of death has not been disclosed, but relatives described it as “sudden and unexpected.”

Neill was born in Ireland but grew up in New Zealand. His career began in 1977 with films like “Sleeping Dogs,” “My Brilliant Career,” and “The Omen.” In 1989, he starred alongside Nicole Kidman in the thriller “Dead Calm,” which earned him critical acclaim.

In 2023, Neill revealed he was battling a rare aggressive blood cancer — angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma. After treatment, he announced in April that he was cancer-free. His death came as a shock to loved ones and fans, as he seemed full of energy.
