Sherrone Moore's Ex-Mistress Sues University of Michigan

Paige Shiver, the former mistress of Sherrone Moore, has filed a lawsuit against the University of Michigan, claiming the school is refusing to release records related to the investigation that ultimately led to the coach's dismissal. The lawsuit, filed on Wednesday, alleges that Shiver repeatedly requested information about her relationship with Moore while she served as his assistant, but the university consistently denied her requests.

Shiver argues that the university is violating the Michigan Freedom of Information Act and is seeking a court order to compel the release of the documents. According to the suit, in February 2026 she requested all audio, video, and transcripts of interviews conducted with herself, her father, and Moore, but the university denied the request, citing an ongoing investigation.

She made another request last month, but the school claimed it was "overly broad and vague." Additionally, Shiver sought emails between Moore and Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel containing the words "affair," "discipline," "abortion," "pregnancy," and "baby," but the school claimed the information was "exempt."

Shiver has previously stated that Moore got her pregnant and she had an abortion due to medical issues. The lawsuit also mentions attempts to obtain communications with the university's hired law firm, Jenner & Block, and meeting recordings, all of which were denied. Furthermore, Shiver claims she experienced sex discrimination and a hostile work environment.

It's worth recalling that Sherrone Moore was fired from his head coaching position in December 2025, and hours later he was arrested after Shiver alleged he threatened to harm himself at her apartment. He was ultimately sentenced to 18 months of probation after pleading no contest to two charges: malicious use of a telecommunication device in a domestic relationship and trespassing.

This scandal has been a major blow to the university's reputation and its football program. Fans and sports commentators are closely watching the developments, as this new legal battle for documents could reveal more details about Moore's conduct and the administration's response. It remains to be seen what other information will surface during the legal proceedings, but it's already clear that this story will have long-lasting consequences for all involved.
