Snooki from Jersey Shore Undergoes Hysterectomy After Cancer Diagnosis: 'I'm Struggling'
Reality TV star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has finally taken a crucial step in her battle with cancer. In February, the 38-year-old television personality revealed she had been diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer, specifically adenocarcinoma. Fortunately, doctors caught the disease early, but they strongly recommended a hysterectomy to eliminate any risks. Snooki had been postponing the surgery out of fear, but now she has shared the good news: it's done.
On Friday, the star posted a video on TikTok from her hospital bed, giving a thumbs up and captioning the footage: “We did it, Joe. Hysterectomy.” The post was flooded with supportive comments from fans wishing her a speedy recovery. One follower wrote, “So proud of you. Recovery sucks... but one day it's all over, you're healed.” To which Snooki honestly replied, “Hope so cause I'm struggling.”
In further comments, Snooki admitted that her recovery has been anything but easy. In a candid vlog shared on Instagram, she showed the entire process: her parents driving her to the hospital, and her counting down before the procedure. After the surgery, the star broke down in tears and told followers she is trying to be tough but is not doing “great.” According to Nicole, doctors made a C-section incision and removed her uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes, and part of her vagina to ensure everything was taken out. They left her ovaries to avoid early menopause.
“Sorry, it's just been a lot. Dealing with all that pain, it's not great. I'm doing my best and trying to stay optimistic. The first couple days is hell, and then it's going to get better,” she said tearfully. She also praised her doctors and nurses for their support. Snooki revealed that as she was wheeled into the operating room, she became nervous and anxious, her heart racing and her body shaking. The moment she realized she was about to lose her uterus, she began “hysterically bawling.” “I'm so scared. I don't know what's gonna happen. I don't want to feel pain. It's very scary,” she added.
After the nurses gave her medication to calm her down, the surgery was successful. Now Nicole Polizzi faces a few more days of pain, after which she expects to feel “brand spanking new” — with no more periods and no need for birth control. But most importantly, she hopes to be cancer-free. Fans and colleagues from the entertainment world are sending her healing energy and wishing her a quick recovery.
Recall that Snooki from Jersey Shore became famous thanks to the hit MTV reality show that premiered in 2009. Over the years, she has gained millions of fans, authored books, and launched her own fashion lines. Her openness about health issues inspires many women facing similar diagnoses. Nicole's story is a reminder of the importance of regular check-ups and early cancer detection.
