T.I. Reflects on Daughter's Virginity Scandal

Rapper T.I. has revisited one of the biggest controversies of his career — the so-called "hymen-gate" scandal. In a new interview with People, the artist admitted that the period was extremely difficult for him and his family.

In 2019, T.I. said on a podcast that he accompanied his daughter Deyjah, then about 18, to the gynecologist to ensure she was still a virgin. The remarks sparked widespread criticism, with many accusing the musician of misogyny and disrespecting his daughter's privacy, though the rapper insisted he was joking.

In the new interview, T.I. said the situation "sucked," especially because the scandal erupted while filming the reality show "T.I. and Tiny: Friends and Family Hustle." When the show aired, the family had to relive all the unpleasant moments tied to public condemnation.

Despite this, the artist does not regret participating in the show. He compares it to a family scrapbook that lets him revisit moments when his children were young. For T.I., it's a way to preserve memories of his kids growing up.

Asked what he learned as a father, T.I. emphasized the importance of having faith in his children. "I learned that you have to operate with more faith than fear. I know it could be very concerning, especially when they start driving and being out there on their own. When that concern arises, you have to have faith that you've raised a human being that can navigate themselves through the ups and downs of society and humanity," he shared.

The virginity scandal became one of the most talked-about moments in T.I.'s career and still resurfaces in discussions. The musician seems ready to learn from the incident and move forward.
