Taylor Frankie Paul's Exes Slam Her for Downplaying Child Custody Case

Taylor Frankie Paul's exes, Tate Paul and Dakota Mortensen, have publicly criticized her for downplaying the seriousness of the situation involving her children. They claim she is ignoring concerns that her kids may be 'abused, neglected, or dependent' and accuse her of 'burying her head in the sand' instead of addressing the issues.

Tate and Dakota, who share the same lawyer, Chad Shattuck, responded to Taylor's legal team's earlier statement that called the juvenile court filing a 'common step' for families. Shattuck emphasizes that this is not routine but a serious intervention by authorities.

As previously reported, Utah's Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) filed a petition asking a juvenile court to take jurisdiction over Taylor's children. The filing alleges that the children meet the legal definition of 'abused, neglected, or dependent' and requests protective supervision services, a guardian ad litem, and any additional orders deemed necessary for their well-being.

Shattuck stated that his clients are 'deeply concerned that Taylor's statement minimizes the gravity of the action filed by DCFS and her many underlying actions that prompted such.' He added that DCFS has requested an expedited hearing for the immediate protection of the children, and that Tate and Dakota are grateful that authorities are taking the matter seriously.

The lawyer also mentioned 'serious warning signs' that went unaddressed for too long, even after the passage of Om's Law, a Utah law enacted after a child's death to improve coordination between child welfare agencies and law enforcement.

Tate and Dakota, according to Shattuck, remain focused on protecting the children, giving them time and space to heal, supporting meaningful accountability, and using their experience to improve coordination between systems. They also noted that despite 'false accusations' online, they have remained silent to protect their children and will tell their story in the appropriate forum when the time is right.

Journalists have reached out to Taylor's camp for comment but have not received a response. The situation continues to unfold, and fans are closely following news about Taylor Frankie Paul and her children. This is not the first scandal involving the reality TV star, but now it involves state intervention, making it particularly serious.
