Bethenny Frankel Reveals Kidney Disease Diagnosis: A Wake-Up Call for Everyone

Bethenny Frankel, star of The Real Housewives of New York City, has shared some concerning health news. On TikTok, she revealed she has been diagnosed with stage 2 chronic kidney disease. She stressed she doesn't want fans to worry, but hopes her story encourages others to take preventive measures.

She explained that recent blood tests showed low kidney function, so she booked an appointment with a specialist—but almost skipped it because she didn't feel like going. Luckily, her team persuaded her to attend, and it paid off. The doctor diagnosed stage 2 chronic kidney disease, which means mild loss of kidney function.

The cause is unclear: it could be autoimmune, or related to a past severe allergic reaction that nearly killed her. UTIs are also a possibility. Bethenny admitted she doesn't drink enough water, often carrying a bottle but not actually drinking. Her doctor now insists she drink 1.5 gallons of water daily, and avoid ibuprofen, turmeric, ice cream, and other items.

Bethenny urged everyone to get thorough bloodwork done regularly: “Be thorough, do follow-ups for any outliers. Sometimes it's a fluke, sometimes it's a pattern.” She hopes her openness helps others catch health issues early.
