Calgary Police Hold Out Hope for Missing Autistic Boy, 11

Calgary police are continuing their massive search for 11-year-old Parker Wells, who has been missing since last Thursday. The boy, who is autistic, non-verbal, and neurodivergent, disappeared after leaving his dayhome.

Hundreds of officers, search-and-rescue teams, and volunteers have been involved in the operation. Despite the passage of time and no new sightings, authorities say they are not giving up. Acting Staff Sgt. Scott Guterson stated: "There is strong hope that Parker is alive. There may come a time when we have exhausted all reasonable searches, but that day is not today."

Investigators believe Parker may be hiding on vacant properties and have released a list of streets in the Thorncliffe neighborhood, asking residents to report any empty houses. Guterson noted he cannot recall a missing child case lasting this long in the city, which is why efforts are being intensified.

Police urge anyone with information to come forward. The community continues to hold out hope for Parker's safe return.
