Craig Melvin Speaks Out After Racist Intrusion on Today Show

Craig Melvin, host of the Today Show, has addressed the disturbing incident that occurred at NBC's Rockefeller Center studio. An intruder, identified as Andrew Truelove, broke into Studio 1A and shouted a racial slur at the 47-year-old anchor.

According to police, Truelove initially targeted Al Roker but switched to Melvin after failing to find him. He lunged at the host while using the N-word. Fortunately, no one was injured. Truelove was arrested and charged with hate crimes, including burglary and menacing.

In court, shocking details emerged: Truelove allegedly said he had always wanted to call a famous Black person the N-word. He remains in custody on $10,000 bail. Melvin and Roker were granted temporary protection orders.

NBC also fired a security guard who let the intruder in. Despite the chaos, the show went on. Melvin thanked the NYPD and assured viewers that everyone is safe.
