Eric Roberts Opens Up About Relationship with Daughter Emma

Eric Roberts, brother of Julia Roberts, has shared rare details about his relationship with his daughter, actress Emma Roberts. In a recent interview, he addressed assumptions about their bond and clarified how things really stand between them.

Back in 2024, the actor admitted on a podcast that losing his relationship with Emma was the hardest time of his life. Due to his addiction struggles in the early '90s, he lost custody to Emma's mother, Kelly Cunningham. In his memoir, Eric wrote that he never felt worthy of physical custody and didn't fight for it.

Now, Eric says their relationship isn't as complicated as outsiders think. He noted that people often make assumptions without knowing the full story. Despite past difficulties, he emphasized that he is incredibly proud of his daughter, though he jokingly added that she wasn't a great actor at first but grew into one.

Eric also recalled Emma's birth in 1991, admitting he was emotionally unstable due to depression and couldn't be relied upon. He takes full responsibility for that period. Now, he's glad to set the record straight and express his love for his daughter publicly.
