Ex-NFL Star Tony Romo Arrested for Drunk Driving

Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo found himself on the wrong side of the law. According to TMZ and Fox 6, the 34-year-old was arrested in Milwaukee on Thursday night for operating a vehicle while under the influence (OWI).

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office said Romo was stopped on a high-rise bridge while heading south on I-43. After performing poorly on field sobriety tests, he was taken into custody. No other details about the arrest are available yet.

The NFL star didn't seem too worried—his mugshot shows him smiling at the camera. Romo has since been released and is scheduled to appear in court on September 21. A first-offense OWI in Wisconsin is often treated as a civil offense, meaning he could face a fine between $150 and $300.
