Horn Island Tragedy: 18-Year-Old Nolan Wells Found Dead After Boat Trip

An 18-year-old Mississippi teen, Nolan Wells, vanished on July 4 after a boat trip to Horn Island with friends. His mother reported him missing when he didn't return. Friends claimed he stayed on the island with a girl, but the girl told police he planned to go back with his buddies. Two days later, his body was found face-down near the shore, close to where he was last seen.

Family attorney Ben Crump noted gaps in the report due to missing body parts from the first autopsy. A key piece of evidence is audio from a cell phone video where Nolan is allegedly heard demanding his phone back. However, the phone was found with his friends, and the family fears it may have been tampered with. Investigators have searched the boat Nolan was on and seized GPS data. They also interviewed a woman named Laney, who may have been the girl on the island, but she said she was elsewhere on July 4.
