Influencer's Husband Accused of Molesting Minor Before Murder-Suicide

Jeremiah 'Shawn' Duffey, the husband of slain influencer Sara Gilson, has been accused of inappropriately touching a juvenile girl he coached, just weeks before police say he killed his wife and then himself in a murder-suicide.

According to police documents, the incident occurred on June 9 at an Oklahoma elementary school. A parent and the victim reported Duffey to Owasso Police about an hour after the alleged incident. Another coach witnessed the touching, intervened, and alerted the parent. Duffey fled before officers arrived.

Investigators discovered similar acts against the same juvenile in multiple states. The crime is listed as lewd molestation of a minor. Because Duffey was a member of the Osage Nation and the incident occurred on tribal land, the case was referred to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Gilson, Duffey's wife, was informed of the investigation and obtained an emergency protective order against him. However, on July 23, both were found dead from gunshot wounds in her Oklahoma home. Dispatch audio captured a woman screaming before a loud bang.

Duffey's ex-wife said his actions were shocking but not surprising, noting he had threatened her during their relationship. His daughters refused to see him after the allegations. Less than two weeks before her death, Gilson posted a TikTok calling her husband a pedophile.
