Josh Duhamel Opens Up About Wife Audra Mari's Difficult Childbirth

Josh Duhamel and his wife Audra Mari had a challenging experience welcoming their daughter. The couple announced the birth of baby Rocca de Leon Duhamel in May, but now the actor is sharing the difficult details.

On Live With Kelly and Mark, the 53-year-old revealed that Audra was diagnosed with placenta previa, a condition where the placenta covers the cervix, causing severe bleeding risks. Thanks to modern medicine, they planned a C-section for May 19.

However, things took a turn. A few days before the scheduled date, Audra had a dream and woke Josh, insisting they go to the hospital. They rushed in, running red lights, and Rocca was born two hours later. Josh said he felt confident because Sanford Medical Center in Fargo is top-notch.

Rocca is Josh's third child and first daughter. He also has son Axl, 12, with ex-wife Fergie, and son Shepherd, 2, with Audra. Josh joked that Shepherd likes his sister but accidentally kicks her in the head. Rocca already smiled for the first time.

The name Rocca was inspired by Rococo and Baroque art styles—Josh's minor in college. He texted the idea to Audra, and after a few days, they agreed. Both mom and baby are now healthy and happy.
