Kelly Osbourne Pens Heartfelt Letter to Dad Ozzy One Year After His Death

Kelly Osbourne, 41, honored her late father Ozzy Osbourne on the one-year anniversary of his death with an emotional Instagram letter. In the message addressed directly to the rocker, she opened up about her grief and how her life has changed.

"My Daddy, one year ago today, the world changed forever. I know you are still with me. I feel you in the quiet, in the wind, in every song. The hardest part isn’t that you’re gone. The hardest part is that I can’t touch you, hold your hand, or feel the safety only you could give me," she wrote. Kelly admitted that life without her father has been the hardest thing she's ever endured.

She described Ozzy as her "everything" — protector, teacher, and best friend. She fondly recalled simple moments: cuddling on the sofa, watching the same TV show, his jokes, and asking for a kiss with a mouth full of food. "I would give anything to experience those little moments just one more time," she added.

A special part of the letter was dedicated to her son Sidney. Kelly said she sees glimpses of her father in him — his smile, spirit, and mannerisms. "Every day I catch glimpses of you in him. It reminds me that love never truly leaves us," she shared.

Kelly also reflected on grief: "People think grief is missing someone who is gone, but the deepest sorrow is waking each day longing for the version of yourself who died with them." She noted that the loss has divided her life into "before" and "after," leaving her feeling like a ghost of her former self.

Closing the letter, Kelly promised to follow her father's advice for the rest of her life. "Your voice still guides me every day. Music may live forever, but our bond, our laughter, our unwavering love is eternal. Death could never take that from us," she concluded.
