Paddy Pimblett Wants to Fight Conor McGregor at Welterweight

UFC star Paddy Pimblett is set to co-headline UFC 329 against Benoit Saint-Denis, but he has much bigger ambitions — he wants a fight with Conor McGregor himself.

In an interview, Pimblett said he's not satisfied with just sharing a card with McGregor; he wants a piece of 'Mystic Mac.' He believes it would be a showdown with the biggest fighter in UFC history and the biggest payday of his career. Pimblett is willing to fight at welterweight (170 lbs) to avoid a tough weight cut.

For now, his focus is on his July 11 bout with Saint-Denis. Pimblett promises a bloodbath — both are coming to fight, not 'sniff balls.' He also predicts a quick finish with his hand raised.

Pimblett suffered his first UFC loss to Justin Gaethje in January. Reflecting on that, he admitted it must have been Gaethje's destiny, as he went on to beat Ilia Topuria at the White House. Pimblett would love a rematch but understands he needs to work his way back.

A fight with McGregor could be a perfect springboard for Pimblett. Given McGregor's star power and return from a long layoff, such a bout would draw massive MMA fan attention. However, first he must succeed on July 11.

Interestingly, when asked about the FIFA World Cup, Pimblett said he couldn't care less — he's fully focused on his MMA career.
