Trump Still Weighing Pardon for Diddy, Sources Say

President Donald Trump is reportedly still considering a pardon for rapper and producer Sean 'Diddy' Combs. According to CBS News, the matter remains among those discussed behind closed doors with advisors.

Trump was expected to meet with advisors Friday over a new batch of pardons. Sources told CBS that Diddy is one of several high-profile names the president is privately considering. However, one source noted Diddy is unlikely to be among the formal recommendations from the White House pardon team, though a White House official said, 'President Trump is the ultimate decider on any clemency related actions.'

This aligns with what TMZ first reported back in October, when sources said Trump was 'vacillating' on commuting Diddy's sentence while some White House staffers urged him not to. The White House Communications Office disputed the report at the time, but TMZ stood by its story.

As TMZ also reported, Diddy was bragging to fellow inmates at FCI Fort Dix last November that he expected a presidential pardon early in 2026. But in January, Trump told the New York Times he had received a letter from Diddy seeking clemency and said he wasn't considering it.

Diddy was sentenced to four years in federal prison after being convicted in October 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of more serious sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges. His release date was recently moved up to February 23, 2028, from April 2028.

Whether Diddy ultimately gets a second chance remains to be seen, but the door appears not completely closed. The decision rests with Trump, and a final call could come soon.
