Warren Sapp Won't Be Charged for Alleged Battery at Senior Home

Former NFL star Warren Sapp was investigated for an alleged battery at a senior living facility in Florida, but prosecutors have declined to file charges against the football legend.

According to a police report from the Apopka Police Department, the incident occurred on May 25 at the Solaris Healthcare facility. A female employee claimed Sapp came to the facility seeking records and answers about his family members' insurance claims, which had been denied. She told police he became verbally hostile.

The employee stated she called her male supervisor and put him on speakerphone for Sapp to hear, which allegedly made Sapp more agitated. She claimed Sapp grabbed her phone and made contact with her wrist. She told him, "Don't touch me," and asked other staff to call police.

Sapp had left the facility before officers arrived. Police reviewed security footage but could not see the alleged physical contact due to the camera angle. Officers attempted to contact Sapp, but he never returned their calls.

Despite finding probable cause for a battery charge, the Orange County State Attorney's Office decided on June 12 not to press charges. The reasons for the decision were not disclosed.

For the 51-year-old Warren Sapp, a Pro Football Hall of Famer, this is not his first legal controversy. He has previously faced domestic violence allegations and other legal issues, often avoiding serious consequences. This incident has once again drawn attention to his off-field behavior.

Public reaction has been mixed, with some calling for accountability and others pointing to the lack of evidence. Sapp has not commented publicly on the incident.
