Patriot Front was founded after the 2017 'Unite the Right' rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. According to the Anti-Defamation League, the group aims to create a white ethnostate, claiming entitlement to the US because their ancestors conquered America.

One video shows Patriot Front members crowding into a subway car alongside regular passengers, sparking widespread criticism on social media. Users condemned the group for sowing division on a day meant to celebrate national unity.

Many Americans expressed outrage that such demonstrations occur on Independence Day, a holiday that should bring the nation together. Counter-protesters actively opposed the march, but police presence prevented clashes.
