'Young and the Restless' Star Colleen Zenk Failed Sobriety Tests Before DUI Arrest

Colleen Zenk, best known for her roles on soap operas, was arrested in Florida on DUI charges after allegedly crashing into a parked car. The incident occurred on May 15 outside a Tommy Bahama store in Naples, according to police reports.

A witness at the scene told officers that Zenk initially tried to flee the crash site but was stopped a short distance away. The witness also noted that the actress was stumbling as she got out of her vehicle.

When police arrived, they conducted standard field sobriety tests. Colleen Zenk admitted to drinking two glasses of wine at Bar Tulia and agreed to perform the exercises. However, her performance was poor, with officers observing significant balance and coordination issues.

According to the police report, Zenk had difficulty walking to the sidewalk without losing balance, and during the horizontal gaze nystagmus test, she moved her head instead of just her eyes. Officers also noted "rapid, repetitive and uncontrollable side-to-side eye movements" when a pen was held at a 45-degree angle.

The actress failed the walk-and-turn and one-leg stand tests, swaying so much that officers feared she might fall. Breathalyzer tests showed blood alcohol concentrations of 0.206 and 0.192, well above Florida's legal limit of 0.08.

After her arrest, Colleen Zenk was booked into the Collier County Jail and faced two DUI charges. A court date has not yet been set. She is best known for playing Barbara Ryan on "As the World Turns" from 1978 to 2010 and recently played Jordan Howard on "The Young and the Restless."

This is not Zenk's first run-in with the law—she was arrested on suspicion of DUI in 2022, but those charges were later dropped. Representatives for the actress have not commented on the latest incident. Fans have expressed concern for her well-being, noting that Zenk has undergone several surgeries, including for oral cancer, and may have been taking medications that interact poorly with alcohol.
